Sustainable Electricity from Our Own Production

With the successful commissioning of the new photovoltaic system at the Ruswil station, the company is once again reaffirming its strong commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. Since mid-June, the installation — with a total capacity of 204 kWp — has been reliably generating environmentally friendly electricity.

The system is expected to produce around 202,000 kWh of power per year, enough to cover the annual consumption of more than 40 average Swiss households. In the first few months of operation alone, it has already generated 100,000 kWh — equivalent to the electricity use of around 20 households (according to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy, an average of 5,000 kWh per household per year).

A large portion of the electricity generated is used directly on-site at the Ruswil station to power its own infrastructure. This approach not only helps protect the environment but also strengthens the company’s energy self-sufficiency.

The new system complements the photovoltaic installation at the Wallbach site, which has been operating successfully since 2022, and highlights the company’s continued commitment to a sustainable future.
