At intervals of max. 10 km, stations featuring remote-controllable valves for the interruption of the gas flow have been installed along the entire pipeline. Most of the valves are equipped with an actuator, which is activated by the energy of the pipeline’s gas pressure. The rest of the valves are outfitted with electrical actuators. With the gas actuator it is possible to close the valves even in case of power failure
