| The compressor station Ruswil is the operational centre of the transport system in Switzerland. From this station the necessary transporting pressure is maintained and the entire pipeline is monitored and controlled. Besides the central facilities to monitor the operation, the station includes the endings of the 36”*-and the 48”-pipeline arriving from the north, the compressors with their subordinate devices, the waste heat recovery units as well as the start of the 48”-pipeline continuing towards the south.
The station features four turbocompressors with their own gas turbines. The fuel gas necessary to power the turbines is drawn directly from the transport system via a pressure reducer station.
The dispatching centre of Ruswil monitors both the pipeline and the facilities of the station. All information coming in from the various outstations via the remote control system is processed at the remote control centre and can be viewed on different screens. Besides a synoptic display provides the dispatching centre with an overview on the general state of the pipeline.
